WESTERN HOSTS PRIDE CONCERT: This year marks the 50th anniversary of Pride celebrations in DC, and Western is hosting a concert as part of the World Pride International Choral Festival.

Western’s part of the festival will feature two choruses: Richmond Allied Voices (Richmond, VA) and Tonewall (New York, NY). The one-hour concert begins at 4:30 on the afternoon of Saturday, May 31. The choral festival is sponsored by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington.

Western is hosting because we contacted GMCW after their Pride concert was cancelled by the Kennedy Center. Artistic director Thea Kano told us that hosting one of the concerts in the choral festival would be the best way for Western to show support. So mark your calendars, and come enjoy some good music as Western supports World Pride 2025.
