Justice & Joy. Advent 2024

The liturgical year begins with the first Sunday of Advent, December 1. With that season in mind, I have some questions for you. (These are not rhetorical, they are invitations to help put together an Advent reflection series for Western for this December, so please send me your responses to any of these prompts that move you.)

1. What is bringing you joy these days? What music? What poetry? What scripture? What else?

2. Where are you finding beauty? Do you have pictures you can share?

3. What is troubling your soul? What is making you restless?

4. What are your hopes right now? What are your hopes for our neighborhood at Western?

5. What is bringing you peace? What is disturbing your peace?

6. What matter of justice feels most threatened right now? Who seems most at risk?

7. What other questions does this Advent season churn up for you?
