A Word From David

Who will roll away the stone?

That’s the question the women asked as they went to the tomb early on that first day to anoint the body of Jesus, their friend and teacher. We know the story, and the answer that it provides but the question remains for us. Who will remove all that stands between us and our healing, wholeness, community, and communion with God. Which is to say, who will remove all that stands between us and our salvation.

That’s Easter in a nutshell.

What is the nature of that stone? Injustice. Oppression. Evil. Human brokeness.

Who will roll it away? I believe the answer is us: the church, the body of Christ in the world that says “yes” when Christ beckons “will you come and follow me?”

Easter Sunday: come and see!
