Session Notes: August 2023

Your Session sat, by Zoom, for its regular monthly meeting this week.  Summer Supply Pastor Dean McDonald moderated.  When we meet next month, Pastor Laura will be back from her sabbatical.

We can feel the church awakening to a post-pandemic “new normal” level of activity.  One positive example – there’s a desire to reopen our children’s nursery this fall and we’re looking for economic ways to staff and supervise our youth program.

We’re also recruiting additional members for our Mission Ministry, whose bailiwick is being expanded (more on that to come) and the Building for the Future task force that we discussed last month.  If you’re interested, please be in touch with Elder Ari Brose.

Most importantly, we approved the implementation plan for recommendations made by the Intercultural and Antiracism Change Team (I-ACT).  This was a long process that involved many stakeholders, but we are finally starting to put actions to our words.  We’re grateful for your patience and support.
