Session Notes: June 2024

Your Session sat for its regular monthly meeting on June 11.  We welcomed our incoming bridge pastor, Rev. Dr. David Ensign, who moderated the meeting.

By the way, if you haven’t had the opportunity to participate in a service led by David, we hope you’ll do so soon.  You won’t be disappointed.

We’re pleased to report that we took important next steps in two transformative projects – expanding our relationship with Miriam’s Kitchen and calling a designated pastor.  In the first instance, we passed a resolution empowering representatives of the Session to advance our discussions with Miriam’s. 

As for the pastor search, we approved the Ministry Discernment Profile form.  This is essentially the job advertisement that applicants respond to. It used to be called (prosaically but accurately) the Church Informational Form.  Now, the comparison is made to a dating app profile (you get the drift).  In any event, this was an important hurdle to clear.

Finally, we accepted with regret, gratitude and well wishes Nicole Jackson Mansch’s resignation from the Session.
