You’re Invited: Loving Our Neighbors Training

Join us August 27, in person after worship, for training with leaders from Miriam’s Kitchen.

On Sunday mornings, the doors of Western are open to anyone who seeks to join us for worship – or for a moment of peaceful rest and reflection.

That means each of us is likely to encounter other people in the pews and during coffee hour who we know well – and who are new to us. Who are similar to us – and who are different from us.

We are called to love our neighbors. What does that look like on a Sunday morning at Western?

How do we offer genuine welcome to everyone who joins us? And how do we support an environment of peace for the community gathered for worship and fellowship?

Please join us in person for a training with leaders from Miriam's Kitchen on Sunday, August 27, after worship, starting around 11:30 am. They'll help us learn more about best practices for offering an inclusive welcome and for sustaining healthy boundaries that foster well-being for everyone.

We will be led by Director of Housing Kierstin Quinsland, LICSW, and Director of Outreach Juanita Driver.

It's up to all of us to welcome our neighbors, and so everyone is invited and encouraged to attend!
