What to Expect in August

What to Expect in August.png

“Start up Sunday” August 8 is just around the corner. The entire month will be a time of transition and experimentation as we begin to integrate new technology to serve both in-person and online worshippers. From week to week, we will roll out new equipment and new improvements. It will be a process built in stages, particularly for those attending in person.

On August 8, we will begin with one basic camera and one screen in the Sanctuary, which will display most of the familiar Worship slides we’ve grown accustomed to on Zoom: prayers, Scripture, solo musical offerings, hymns, etc. The screen may be difficult to see for some, but we will expand to two by September and determine the number, placement, and size of screens needed long-term. In a few weeks, we will upgrade the camera to capture better the natural flow of the liturgy for digital worshippers. Upgrades to the sound system will eventually allow our wonderful choir and live music to return and ensure that all musical offerings are heard without feedback or disruption for both in-person and at-home worshippers.

As we work through unexpected technical issues, we may experience glitches in sound, visuals, or timing. Thanks in advance for your patience and feedback.

If you plan to worship in-person during our start-up period, RSVP here to let us know (RSVP is encouraged but not required for in-person worship).

And once again, we thank those who have already contributed to our efforts to update our technology! Any gift makes a big difference. If you have not given already, click here to give online.
