Congregational Conversation

Dear Western Friends,

On behalf of the Session, I invite you to join us for a congregational conversation following worship on Sunday, February 12.

Last Sunday, you heard from some of our leaders sharing both gratitude for your continued generosity as well as some of the financial challenges we face as a church. As we respond to changes in our post-pandemic life – fewer in attendance, shifts in membership and giving, needs requiring technological dexterity – we are also working to adjust our staffing and programming.

Any of these shifts in our larger circumstances have potential to unsettle us. We hope you’ll join us for conversation to clarify some of our current challenges and talk more around tables about how we are moving into the future.

We believe these kinds of conversations happen best in-person. For those who need to join on-line, we will have a discussion group on zoom. We also believe that God has vital ministry in store for us. This vitality will grow as we share and listen for the sake of understanding each other.  As the Session, we may not have all the answers, but we remain committed to the kind of conversations that allow us to grow stronger as we work through these things together.

With thanksgiving for you and for what the Spirit is doing among us,

Laura
