Session Notes: August 2022

Your Session sat, by Zoom, for its regular monthly meeting this week.

It’s been an active summer. Worship attendance online has been stable and, thanks to a steady stream of walk-in visitors, in-person attendance is growing. In fact, there’s enough interest from newcomers that we’ve scheduled new member classes beginning this month.

On this same theme, plans are in the works for our first Come and See W.P.C. Sunday on September 11. We’re reaching out to our neighbors – beginning with St. Mary’s Court – with invitations to join us for worship that illuminates all we do as a church community.

There’s a lot to see. Among other things…Mark Adams and Miriam Maldonado of Frontera de Cristo, a Western mission beneficiary, will visit us (and preach) on September 4. Also, watch for opportunities to be involved in the resettlement of Afghan refugees, an ecumenical project with Georgetown Presbyterian and Lutheran Social Services.

That’s all for this month. Enjoy your summer and thanks for reading.
