Session Notes: December 2023

Your Session sat for its regular monthly meeting this week.  Bridge Pastor Dean McDonald moderated. 

This was our first meeting since Pastor Laura departed, and the work of seeking her successor has begun. 

To this end, we were visited by three representatives from our presbytery, led by General Presbyter (and former Western clergy) John Molina-Moore.  John led us through our procedural options as we begin the pastor search.

The interim pastor arrangement familiar to many members is labor-intensive, time-consuming…and, in the post-pandemic church, increasingly out of favor.  We’re investigating other options that expedite the process and move us to an installed pastor sooner (a few months, not years).

The next step is a fuller discussion at our on-site officers retreat on January 6.  

This was the last Session meeting for David Little, Jerry Hoganson and Annette Reilly, whose terms expire.  We welcome incoming Elders Susie Farr and Beth Anne Wilson.
