Staff Update: Next Steps for Jess Fisher
Dear Western Friends,
It’s with a heavy heart that I let you know that yesterday Jess Fisher told me she has accepted a full-time position as Office and Digital Ministry Specialist at our sister congregation, Church of the Pilgrims. Her last day of work in her position with us will be June 25. I’m sure you join me in celebrating with her, while grieving for us! We give thanks for the faith-filled, excellent work she has done with us. I encourage you to express your individual appreciation for her as you feel appropriate, even as we find a way to express our whole church’s gratitude for her last four years of dedicated commitment to our communications.
The Session and Personnel Ministry Team will be working in the coming weeks to figure out next steps for Communications Ministry in the context of all of our ministry and work going forward. During this time of transition and uncertainty, I ask for your prayers and support as we look at the work of all of our staff and how we embrace the new realities of this time.

I give thanks for my time at Western. I've learned a lot about church life and ministry as we celebrated joys and wrestled with hard decisions over the last four years. Being a part of this staff and working with Laura has been wonderful. Together, we've setup Church Community Builder, rebranded with a new logo and visual identity, published a photo directory, reached out to the community in new ways, improved systems for staff work, and so much more. In these unprecedented days, we've pivoted to church life online. I look forward to seeing where God leads you next.
