Guest Musician: Ariel Nathanson Bolinja
Ariel Nathanson Bolinja graduated from University of Hartford's The Hartt School in 2018 with a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance with a Pedagogy Emphasis. Nathanson was inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda music honor society by The Hartt School of Music chapter.
Children’s Ministry Team: Update to Families
With the weather starting to warm up and flowers beginning to bloom, it’s an exciting time to welcome kids and families back to worship at Western. As much as we’re looking forward to seeing each other again, we know that coming back to church can feel familiar and a little bit foreign at the same time! To help ease the transition, the Children’s Ministry team would like to share a few updates:
Session Notes - March 2022
Your Session sat, by Zoom, for its regular monthly meeting this week. We conducted our usual church business (discussed in a moment), but our attention was fixed on a reality that has become obvious – the challenging transition from online to in-person worship. As Pastor Laura said, “we’re traveling off the map.”
A Word from Laura: Tiny Prayer
This week I discovered The Book of Tiny Prayer by Micah Bucey, a progressive faith leader in New York City. During the first year of covid, frustrated by isolation, Bucey created one-sentence prayers and posted them on-line each day. His book of blessings and thanksgivings may inspire anyone seeking to live courageously into God’s love and justice, as we do at Western.
